As for the whole pairing thing, I don't really understand why people feel the need to make up pairings in the first place, especially if they're not even canon. Is it that hard to enjoy a series without everyone being paired up with someone?

Pretty much. The thing is is, this person is getting their knickers in a huge twist over something that doesn't even -involve- them. They're just pissy that I don't subscribe to their paedophilia. And that I hurt their widdle woogum's feelings. -_-

You know, I think it's just because pairings are fun. And when you give a predominantly female fanbase a whole bunch of sexy men (Larxene practically is one, let's face it) in lots of black leather, their minds just go places. Honestly, the plot, if you can call it that, of Kingdom Hearts is so scripted and the hero figures so boring that if I didn't get to play around with the Organization, there would be absolutely nothing about the games for me to enjoy. There's this incredible group that could make SO much money for Squisney, and has the potential for so much rich, incredible story... and they just kill them all off. I guess I should be glad - it means I get to write my own backstory!

There's definitely a limit, though. There are certain pairings that are far more likely than others, and the one in question is definitely waaaaay off in the deep end with regards to realism. e_e Also it violates the cardinal age rule as defined by fandom consensus on character ages, so it fails right off the bat.

Well, the whole Axel/Roxas thing always seemed sorta implied to me when it comes to Organization XIII pairings. I think that's one of the reasons why people pair them up all the time. Roxas: No one's gonna miss me. Axel: I'll miss you.

Either way, I don't agree with it personally.

A lot of people also tend to bash Larxene because she happens to be the only female in the group. Honestly, I think the least they could've done is kept all thirteen members alive for KHII so they would have more time for character development. That is one of the many things I found disappointing with the series.

As for the last bit, that kinda reminds me of the Hermione/Snape pairing in the Harry Potter fandom.

Yeah, but this is Xigbar/Demyx. Which is... uh. I can see Xigbar kinda taking the little snot under his proverbial wing, because he's a bit of a kid at heart himself, but definitely not FUCKING him. *shudder* It gets even worse when people are like, 'But DemDem is so cute, like a puppy!'

I was having an interesting talk with PiedCrow over on y!G a while back about OTPs and so on, and how much it SUCKS when people are all, LOL I LIKE UR PAIRING and then turn around and fap to/ship a pairing that involves one of the characters, but which you hate.

TBH, I adore Larxene (but not Xion, who is a Mary Sue cunt). And I pair her shamelessly up with Marluxia, because a) it's hot, and b) I like watching them try to out-sadist each other. It's a game where no one really wins, but no one loses, either. As for keeping them alive, I agree! I feel especially bad for poor Vexen, who had WAY more potential than anyone gives him credit for (the fandom just writes him off as a crazy old scientist who luvs teh childrunz in naughty ways - DID WE PLAY THE SAME GAME FANDOM I AM JUST CURIOUS), and yet was the first one to go.

...yes, that is precisely what it is. SO VERY MUCH. And it makes me gag just as much.

That's just messed up to say the least, and back when I made a set of Organization XIII plushies, I recall the Demyx and Xigbar ones going to the same buyer.

I still need to get around to playing the COM remake. I've only played the GBA version, sadly to say. Vexen would've definitely created a very interesting plot twist in KHII, had they not killed him off in the previous game.

*shudder* Ugh, I'm not surprised. It's just so -sickening-, especially to a die-hard XigVex fan. I mean, at least Vexen is obviously legal. And he and Xigbar have history together, too. People seem to forget that behind his laid-back surfer attitude, Xiggy is -wicked- smart and needs someone who can match (and beat) him with regards to brains. I honestly see him as being one of maybe two people who knows how to stroke Vexen in just the right way to calm him back down so that he can keep working. Sure, they're different, but they've helped carry each other through hell. They were part of the original pact to get their hearts back, and that counts for way more than... whatever Demyx brings to the table. (Also, have I mentioned they both look like -men-? God forbid we pair two mature, attractive men, rather than one 'old guy' and what amounts to a girl with a penis.)

Definitely play the remake if only for the eye candy! :3 They had -such- an easy opening for having Vex, around, too. After all, the guy -can- make near-perfect copies of himself, and he is not stupid. I firmly believe he saw what was coming and it was a replica that got the brunt of Axel's orders.
